The Franish — What We Do
French for Canadian PR:
Your End-to-End Journey with The Franish
From understanding your immigration profile to TEF preparation, exam booking, practice platforms, Francophone Mobility paperwork and CEC profile review — one programme, one payment, nothing extra.
Start with a Profile Assessment →Most people come to The Franish with one goal in mind: improve their CRS score for Canadian Permanent Residence by adding French proficiency points.
But what if French could do far more than add a number to your profile?
Your immigration journey connects your work experience, your education, your language scores, your work permit timeline, your employer's willingness to support you and the job market for bilingual professionals — all at once. Treating French as a standalone activity ignores most of that.
At The Franish, we do not begin by selling you a course. We begin by understanding your immigration profile.
Understanding your immigration profile — before you learn a single French word
Before recommending French, we want to understand exactly where you are in your Canadian immigration journey.
Every student at The Franish goes through an initial profile assessment. We look at your age and marital status, your educational qualifications and whether you have an ECA, your Canadian and foreign work experience, your current NOC code and occupation, your IELTS or CELPIP scores, your existing CRS total, your work permit and its expiry date, your Express Entry profile status if you have one, and your long-term immigration goals.
Why do we do this? Because French is not the right investment for every profile. Depending on where you stand, improving your English scores, gaining more Canadian work experience, exploring a Provincial Nominee Program, or pursuing French proficiency may each serve you differently. We assess the options before making a recommendation.
Our position is straightforward: we want you to invest your time and money in a strategy that actually makes sense for your situation. We will tell you honestly if French can change your outcome — and equally honestly if it cannot.
Learning French with a clear exam and immigration objective
Once we confirm that French is the right path for you, we move into structured preparation for TEF Canada or TCF Canada.
Here is what makes our approach different. Preparing for the exam is not the same as learning French. You need two things in parallel: enough genuine language ability to understand questions, conversations and written passages — and the ability to perform correctly within the exam's specific format and time limits.
We work towards both at the same time. Our teaching combines real language development — vocabulary, grammar, listening comprehension, reading, speaking and writing — with exam-specific strategy. We identify your gaps, personalise the programme and track your progress against the score you actually need for your immigration goal.
There is a sweet spot between understanding the language and being ready for the exam. Rote memorisation of model answers is not enough, and pure language study without exam strategy wastes time. We find the balance — and that is what produces results on exam day.
Booking the right exam: dates, centres and the Ontario problem
Getting the preparation right is one challenge. Getting a seat at the right exam centre at the right time is another — especially in Ontario, where dates fill up fast and some centres are far more supportive of candidates than others.
We guide you through the entire booking process. That includes identifying available Alliance Française centres, comparing dates based on your preparation readiness and your immigration timeline, helping you choose the most suitable option, walking you through the registration form, helping you fill it in correctly and planning your attempt around your work permit expiry or Express Entry window.
We do not leave you to work out the logistics on your own. An exam booked too early wastes an attempt. An exam booked at the wrong centre can affect how supported you feel on test day. We help you make both decisions with the full picture in front of you.
Practice platforms included — timed speaking, listening and writing, no extra cost
Language ability and exam performance are two different challenges. Speaking, listening and writing all run against a clock. Practising casually is not enough preparation for modules where you have to produce a full written response or deliver a spoken answer in a fixed number of minutes.
That is why access to dedicated practice and examination simulation platforms is included in your programme at no additional cost. You do not need to search for platforms on your own, buy separate subscriptions or piece together different tools from different providers.
Through the included access, you can practise speaking tasks under real time constraints, build listening comprehension through exam-style audio, work on writing within the actual time limits you will face, and build consistency through repeated simulation. The environment is as close to the real exam as possible — so the test centre is not the first time you have worked under exam conditions.
Francophone Mobility Work Permit: connecting your French to your employment
For eligible candidates, French proficiency can unlock the Francophone Mobility pathway — a route under the International Mobility Program that allows eligible French-speaking foreign workers to obtain an employer-specific work permit without a Labour Market Impact Assessment.
But French proficiency is only one part of it. The employer side involves real paperwork, a specific IRCC portal process and documentation that most employers have never dealt with.
We help prepare the documents required for the employer's submission: an updated offer letter, an updated experience or reference letter and a letter of recommendation that explains clearly why the employer needs you in a role where French is a genuine requirement. We build these documents, coordinate the review process and help your employer get them signed.
We then walk the employer through every step of the IRCC Employer Portal filing: which portal to access, what information to submit, how to obtain the offer of employment number and what the employee needs after that point. We provide the employer with a clear to-do list so the process does not stall because of confusion on their end.
Francophone Mobility eligibility depends on the applicable IRCC requirements, including language proficiency, occupation and employment conditions. We help you organise and understand the process correctly — approval remains entirely at IRCC's discretion. Our in-house RCIC partner is available for regulated immigration advice where it is required.
Building your CEC profile after your results come in
Once you have your TEF Canada or TCF Canada score, we help you understand exactly what it means for your immigration profile.
We translate your results into NCLC equivalents, explain how they interact with your English language score and recalculate your CRS total with your new French points included. We then review the information you are entering into your Express Entry or Canadian Experience Class profile — French and English results, work experience, education, personal details, NOC code — and check for inconsistencies, missing entries or errors before you submit.
A French result can change your profile significantly. The goal is to make sure it is correctly reflected in your application, with every other declared detail accurate and consistent.
Bilingual job connections — turning your French into a professional opportunity
French proficiency is not just an immigration tool. It is a professional skill that certain employers actively need — and a language that can open doors to job roles that would not otherwise be available to you.
We have built relationships with selected employers and recruitment agencies to connect suitable candidates with bilingual employment opportunities. If you achieve the relevant French proficiency milestones through the programme, we can share your profile with our employer network for relevant positions.
These may include customer-facing bilingual roles, administrative and operational positions, French-speaking client support, sales and business development and other jobs where French is a genuine asset. For eligible candidates, a bilingual role with the right employer may also support a Francophone Mobility work permit pathway, provided the position and employment arrangement meet the applicable IRCC requirements.
These opportunities are additional and are subject to employer requirements and candidate suitability. We do not guarantee interviews, employment or work permit approval — but we do introduce your profile to the right people.
One Programme. One Payment. Nothing Extra.
Everything described above is included in a single The Franish programme. There are no separate charges at any stage — not for the practice platforms, not for the Francophone Mobility documentation, not for the profile assessment, not for the exam booking guidance and not for the CEC profile review.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does The Franish only teach French, or do you help with immigration too?
The Franish is an end-to-end French language and Canadian immigration pathway support service. We start by assessing your immigration profile to decide whether French is the right strategy for you at all. Profile assessment, TEF preparation, exam booking, practice platforms, Francophone Mobility paperwork, CEC profile review and bilingual job connections are all part of one programme with one payment and no extra charges.
What does The Franish look at in the initial assessment?
Your age, marital status, education and ECA, Canadian and foreign work experience, NOC code, IELTS or CELPIP scores, CRS score, work permit and its expiry, Express Entry profile status and your long-term immigration goals. Based on this, we advise whether French proficiency can genuinely improve your options or whether a different route would serve you better.
How does The Franish help with the Francophone Mobility Work Permit?
We help prepare the employer-side documents — offer letter, experience letter and a letter of recommendation explaining why your employer needs you in a bilingual role. We build these, help your employer sign them and then provide a step-by-step checklist for the IRCC Employer Portal submission. Approval is at IRCC's discretion. Our in-house RCIC partner is available for regulated immigration advice.
Do I have to pay separately for practice platforms?
No. Access to the practice and simulation platforms — including timed speaking, listening and writing modules that mirror the real exam — is included in your programme. No additional subscriptions.
What happens after I receive my TEF Canada or TCF Canada score?
We help you convert your result into NCLC equivalents, check how it interacts with your English scores and review your Express Entry or CEC profile to make sure everything is entered correctly before submission. For eligible candidates, we also connect you with employers and agencies for bilingual job opportunities that may support a Francophone Mobility pathway.
